Whoo HOO! SCORE!

I just stumbled upon this in a local thrift shop. They wanted $7 for it.   It was dirty and dusty but still factory sealed.  Took the time to look it up on my eBay app and could barely get it to the register fast enough.  I got the pictures taken and got it posted.  It sold within 5 hours for $310 - including shipping.  The added bonus is that due to a recent ebay promotion, I should only pay $10 in listing fees and I will also get a little extra from being a Top Rated Seller.

I am happy!  This has made my entire week.  Even my husband, the anti-thrifter, was impressed.
BEST SALE EVER!!

What has been your most recent score?  Let me know in the comments!!

How much for this piece of San Francisco history?

Ronnie Lott is a piece of San Francisco history.  He played for the 49ers from 1981-1990. He was an awesome player and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.  The 49ers won 8 division titles and 4 Super Bowls when he was playing for them.

When I found this Mitchell and Ness throwback jersey during a recent thrifting visit I was really unsure whether I should get it or not. I figured that Ronnie Lott wasn't currently on anybody's radar.  But the price was right.  I picked up this XXL jersey for less than five dollars.  I can at least get my money back, right? LOL.  In spite of it being a white jersey, it is spotless and in excellent condition. So what do you think? Is there any value in throwback football jerseys?  How much would you list it for? What determines the best price point for this item? Before you say, "Have you checked the solds?" Of course I have done that.....but I am sure that there are some "jersey guys" out there with expert knowledge. Oh, and while you are at it.....I also have a Rajon Rondo Celtics Jersey. He played with the Boston Celtics from 2006-2014......just thought I would slip that in at the end....LOL.  Does it even make sense to buy jerseys when players switch teams so much?

Please put all suggestions in the comments.  I'm looking forward to your feedback.

Diamonds and Pearls

Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life......OMG.  Prince is dead.  I am still in a purple cloud of confusion. This is a tough one....you're gonna have to give me a minute here.  No, I don't have any diamonds and pearls for sale currently on Ebay.  Diamonds and Pearls is actually the title to a Prince song.
Prince was HUGE in the 80's.  I grew up singing Prince songs and I really didn't even understand what some of them were talking about until I was grown and listened to them all over again. Lyrically, Prince was a BEAST!! He was a soulful rock star that who could wear leather and lace while strutting around in heels - and for many of us, that was mesmerizing. Pardon me, but I think I hear some doves crying right now.
James Corden is a fan, too! One thing that I love about James Corden.....he knows how to belt out a song with gusto! I'm the same way. I've been singing Prince songs that I can remember loud and proud for the last two days.

Prince's music was a thread in the tapestry of my life.  In celebration of him and the contributions that he made to the music world, I will be doing my eBay listings while jamming out to some of my favorite Prince songs.  You should join me.  Check out some of his albums below. For all of the Prince fans out there.....shout out your favorite song in the comments.

Can you spell slow? EBAY

Well. Ebay has been slow for me lately and I know why. So I am not complaining really.  I am just stating a fact. I really haven't done a lot of listing lately, so I know that doesn't help.  I also realize that I just have some pretty basic stuff listed on ebay right now. I don't really have anything mindblowing listed right now - so I just chalk it up to the fact that nobody is buying what I am selling today.

I also haven't done much thrifting either.  Wait, on second thought, I have had quite a few thrifting trips - they just haven't been very productive.  So you know what that means?  I don't have that much to talk about on the blog today.  I am hoping that the tides will change really soon.  In the meantime, I am just going to sit back and chill for a minute.  It's times like these that I am glad that I am not trying to make Ebay my full time gig.  I am thankful to have a full time job!!

Since things aren't too busy with me - be sure to check out my other blogging pals.

This final blog link has nothing really to do with Ebay - but I think it has some really interesting information nonetheless.  Check out Side Hustle Nation for some additional inspiration.

What's your story?  Are you a full time or part-time Ebayer?  What do you do during your slow seasons?

How I Thrift.....

It has been almost a year since I started selling on Ebay.  Back in the day I was hesitant to go shopping in thrift stores searching for treasures.   I can say now that I am completely over that.  Currently, I have a regular schedule of thrift store shopping.  In my area, I have the Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Habitat for Humanity stores.  I try to stop by a couple of them on a weekly basis.  At this point,  I can be in and out in a few minutes if I don’t immediately see some things that catch my eye.  Here is what I like to look for when I am shopping.

Books:  I have always been a book lover.  Currently, I have more books than I need in my house – but unfortunately they are the ones of limited value.  The books that I like to find while I am thrifting are the old, vintage books.  I like to find children’s primary readers and old editions of some of the more popular books or authors.  Unfortunately, all old books aren’t good sellers.  I will be the first to admit that I have some that it looks that I will end up giving away eventually, just because they don’t seem to be generating any attention.  I do have some currently in my inventory that I am hopeful about.  You can check them out here.

Mugs – I always check for mugs just to see if I find anything interesting or worthy.  Sometimes I will make a purchase on a whim – hoping that it will result in a great sale.  That is what happened when I purchased these.  Just so you know, I do check ebay for completeds and for solds.  Sometimes the numbers that I find there don’t look so great – but I make the purchase anyway, hoping that the odds would be in my favor.  That’s what happened here.  I bought this Japanese mug and these Starbucks mugs. I ended up purchasing these because I had an attraction to them.  Hopefully they will sell eventually.

China – China is interesting.  I really am clueless about china, but I am learning. I like to turn it over when I see it and check out the manufacturers information on Ebay.  Currently I don’t have any china for sale.

Toys – If I am checking toys, I am just looking for something interesting. Plush is not something that I am really interested although I did purchase this gingerbread man recently…..and looking back at it I really don’t know why.  You can check out the gingerbread man here.   I am also looking for things that might still be sealed.  Remember the Cher doll I discovered not too long ago?  I bought a couple of board games, that I am hoping to sell soon as well – Carolinaopoly and Let's Buy Hollywood.  They don't seem to be quick sellers, though. I wish I could find more toys to sell that are in good shape.

Clothing – I check clothing only after I have checked all the other areas.  I would prefer not to sell clothing at all, actually.  However, if I can’t find anything else while thrifting, I can usually find some clothing.  I don’t spend a lot of time in the women’s section.  I try to search the men’s section pretty good, looking for nice shirts, sports memorabilia and Levi’s jeans.  I don’t stray too much from these items.  Maybe if I did, I would be making more money. Hmmmm……definitely something to consider.

Overall, this is how I prioritize my thrift shopping.  These are the things that I sell most often.  I am not a big seller.  I am trying to keep things steady and have continuous growth.  So far that seems to be happening.  After I officially pass my one year Ebayversary I hope to set some new growth goals for myself.

In case you looked at some of my listings in the text above and see ways I can improve, please share them below. You can check out all of  my listings by going here. I’m still new at this and welcome your comments and suggestions.  How do you thrift?

March Madness.......

MARCH MADNESS!!!  Nothing beats the excitement of the NCAA basketball tournament. Of all the sports out there, I love basketball the best.  I grew up loving ACC basketball before it exploded to include what seems to be a million teams.  Back in the days of my youth, ACC basketball consisted of teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland and Virginia.  Those were the days when the ACC tournament generated so much excitement that the teachers would let you watch some of it during school.  Everything was abuzz during tournament time in my North Carolina town. I have witnessed some of the biggest fussing, cussing, throw-down debates between UNC and North Carolina State fans.  The UNC vs NCSU  and other instate rivalries continue today, but this year UNC has made it to the big dance.  UNC will be playing Villanova tonight.  There is no doubt about who I want to win.  Tar Heels all the way!!

In recognition of the Heels making it back to the NCAA championship, maybe you or someone you know would like to celebrate with a bit of UNC memorabilia, a vintage CAROLINAOPOLY game. In case you haven't seen one, it's much like Monopoly, but it has references to UNC buildings and landmarks. Check it out here on Ebay.  If there are any Carolina alumni and fans out there reading this post.......show your team spirit in the comments!
